Waldwick Barbers Cutting Mohawks For Chris Cornell: 'Stop The Tragedies'

WALDWICK, N.J. — Virile Barber & Shop in Waldwick held its #1MillionMohawks campaign for Mental Health Awareness Month Sunday.

The event was held in partnership with the You Rock Foundation, and honored Chris Cornell, who committed suicide last week.

"If there's another musician out there having suicidal thoughts, maybe seeing all of the intimate interviews with superstars like Corey Taylor talking about their suicide attempts and mental illness, they will see that they are not alone and start sharing their struggles before it's too late," You Rock President Joseph Penola told Daily Voice.

"The music industry really needs to rally to prevent tragedies like this from happening. I truly believe that if more people knew about the work we were doing with You Rock it would inject some hope in this desperate time."
