HAWORTH, N.J. -- First Congregational United Church of Christ in Haworth will have a special service to honor first responders Sunday, Sept. 11.
The church invites community members to a time of reflection, remembrance and gratitude to honor first responders and their families.
The worship will mark 15 years since the tragic 9/11 attack on the United States, which affected so many in northern New Jersey.
Haworth Mayor John Smart will share some thoughts, and the children of the Haworth UCC will prepare a special ice cream social with homemade cookies for the church's fellowship meeting after worship.
Community members who would like to join this special service are encouraged to contact the church with an approximate number of people who will be attending, but an official reservation is not required.
The church administrator is available for questions from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays at (201) 384-1063. Questions also can be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Additional information can be found at the church's website.
The service will begin at 10:30 a.m.
The church is at 276 Haworth Ave., Haworth.
