"Alzheimer’s: The Caregiver’s Greatest Test" will be at 7 p.m., with seating beginning at 6:15 p.m., at the Van Dyk Health Care at Park Place on Goffle Road, Thursday, Nov. 30.

Kim Campbell’s personal journey as Glen’s caregiver has inspired millions of families who battle the devastating illness. The town hall forum – marking the final day of National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month – will focus on the unique physical, emotional and psychological challenges facing caregivers.

"We wanted to do something special for all the amazing caregivers in our community," said Robert Van Dyk, CEO of Van Dyk Health Care.

"Try walking a mile in the shoes of an Alzheimer’s caregiver. There are so many questions to explore, and it takes courage to answer them. These caregivers are true heroes, and Kim Campbell is one of them. She is the perfect choice to lead this important conversation with our community."

Glen Campbell, a Country Music Hall of Fame inductee, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2011. Glen and Kim confronted the disease openly with the entire nation as shown in the touching documentary, "Glen Campbell: I’ll Be Me." They were married for 35 years until Glen’s passing in August.

"I remember watching the premiere of the "I’ll Be Me" documentary, and I was so impressed with how they gave Alzheimer’s the attention that it deserves,” said Van Dyk, who was recently named the recipient of the 2017 Jan Thayer Pioneer Award by the National Center for Assisted Living for his leadership and contributions to the senior care profession nationwide.

"We know that music plays a powerful role in memory care, and here was a true icon who carried his music with him throughout his life, including his battle with Alzheimer’s."
