HAWORTH, N.J. -- Join one of the biggest crafting and relaxation trends of the decade by participating in Haworth Library's fall knitting workshops.
The classes are Sept. 21 at 6 p.m.; Oct. 5 at 10 a.m.; and Oct. 27 at 10 a.m.
A survey by the Craft Yarn Council says everything about knitting is on the upswing, with 84 percent darning their needles three or four times a week.
Nine in 10 knitters claim the craft helps them to relax, and 81 percent of respondents say it decreases stress while 57 percent say it reduces anxiety.
Google searches for "knitting for beginners" was also up 250 percent in 2012, according to Google UK.
