We sat down with Upper Saddle River resident Michelle Frankel, founder and "Chief Love Office" of NYCity Matchmaking, to find out more about the dating world -- and, of course -- how to find love.

Daily Voice: What are most people looking for with a partner but can't find?

Michelle Frankel: Most people are looking for and want to be loved, accepted and appreciated. Men tend to focus more on physical attributes whereas women on financial stability.

DV: What are the hurdles?

MF: Giving someone a real chance. Taking the time to get to know someone. First dates are tough-- don’t judge so quickly. Perfection does not exist.

DV: What makes your dating service unique?

MF: We are a boutique matchmaking service working with a select number of clients at any one time so we can deliver a highly personalized service customized for each of our clients.

Our goal is to introduce our clients to the best match in our universe and there are no limitations. Our services are both efficient and confidential maximizing our client’s free time by us making introductions to matches that have been pre-screened and selected to the client’s specifications and goals.

Finally, we provide invaluable honest, constructive feedback following each introduction directly from their date. In other words, no client is ever left wondering what happened.

DV: How many matches would you say you've done in six years of business?

MF: Hundreds. Our success is determined by each person’s goals, which vary from client to client. We’ve seen plenty of marriages and babies, but not every client has the same goals.

DV: Is any time of year particularly busy?

MF: Fortunately for us, we are busy all year long probably due to our high success rates. If there is a busiest time, I would say it is in the fall and winter. November to February. (Holidays, New Years and Valentine’s Day remind people that life is great with company.) But again, we are crazy busy in the spring and summer when singles are emerging from a cold winter of hibernation.

DV: What's the biggest reward of your job?

MF: Without question, the many calls and emails from clients telling me that I have changed their lives and are forever grateful. I am often invited to weddings, baby showers and dinner parties with happy couples that we have introduced.

DV: Biggest frustration?

MF: Watching singles do the same thing over and over again -- and expecting a different result. Albert Einstein defined that as insanity. People call us to shake things up. Get results and change their life.
