Kids Learn The Circus Life At Harrington Park Arts Studio

HARRINGTON PARK, N.J. -- Harrington Park's Sukha Arts Center is offering a circus camp for "aspiring performers" 10 and older, in two four-day sessions, in the last week of June and July.

Aerial yoga will be one component of the circus camps this summer at Sukha Arts Center.

"Circus performers make it look easy, but behind the scenes they work hard on flexibility, strength, creativity and grace," organizers note. Participants of the circus camps will learn how performers use dance training for their shows.

Kids will start the days with an aerial yoga class: they'll stretch and warm up as they literally hang out in aerial hammocks. They'll then work on acrobatics, with rolls, cartwheels, handstands and balance, and then move on to an aerial dance class.

Campers will learn and perform an aerial performance for the week's end.

The two sessions are Monday through Thursday, June 27-30, and Monday through Thursday, July 25-28. Each costs $240. Kids are welcome to attend both weeks.

The days run from noon to 3 p.m., and participants should bring a healthy snack. You can register here.
