Njdep Gives Beach-Goers Green Light

The three beaches that earlier this week were closed by bacteria levels have reopened.

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection on Tuesday closed Beachwood West, Summit and West Beach on the Jersey Shore due to exceedingly high levels of enterococci, a bacteria known to cause UTIs and meningitis. 

More than 30 other beaches received advisories.

As of Friday afternoon there were no closures and no advisories.
