HARRINGTON PARK, N.J.– A rare book documenting the first 50 years of Harrington Park is available for purchase on eBay .
eBay user nj_rare_books is selling the first edition 1954 copy of "50th Anniversary of Harrington Park 1904-1954" for $99.99 plus shipping.
The 50th Anniversary Committee prepared the 48-page, soft cover book, which was published by The Harrington Press.
The book documents things such as the borough's first school, its places of worship and a list of mayors, along with black and white photographs.
On May 17, 1932 residents celebrated the end of Prohibition with a beer parade at the old railroad station.
The borough gets its name from the Harring Family, according to the book.
"This booklet is about the community's past. It is dedicated to its future," it says in the book.
Resident Kathy Zahos lives in a 185-year-old home named after the borough's first mayor, John Bogert.
"The place has lots of character," she told Daily Voice.
