Northern Valley Romance Author Relies On Shoes For Story Inspiration

ROCKLEIGH, N.J. -- Tali Alexander, a Rockleigh resident and a practicing pharmacist, says shoes -- among other things -- give her inspiration for her series of novels.

"An avant-garde pair of designer heels provides that special boost I need to shut the real world out and morph into one of my characters and write a fantasy world," she said.

Alexander, who owns a chain of independent boutique drug stores around New York City together with her husband, began writing her debut novel on a beach in St. Lucia while on vacation. Once she started writing, she said she couldn’t stop. "Every night I'd read what I’d put down on paper to my husband, and he loved it. He kept telling me he wanted more… so I kept writing."

The book, "Love in Rewind," published in May 2014, is the first in the Audio Fools trilogy and centers on the crumbling marriage of Emily Bruel and her husband Louis. "Lies in Rewind," which came out in June 2015, is the continuation of the series focusing on Emily’s best friend Sara Klein. "We follow Sara and Liam Knight on their road to love as we unravel all the lies," said Alexander.

Her third and final book, "Lost in Rewind," is set for release in late 2016.
