She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. Newburgh Man Arrested For Stabbing Mother, Aunt, DA Says A 32-year-old Hudson Valley man has been charged with allegedly attempting to kill his mother and aunt in a fit of rage by stabbing them numerous times.  Orange County resident Donnie Smith of Newburgh was charged on Tuesday, April 30, with two counts of first-degree attempted murder and two counts of second-degree attempted murder. Road Rage: Man Nabbed For Incident In Darien A 24-year-old man who allegedly pointed a BB gun at a tow truck driver on I-95 in Fairfield County and slowed down to 5 mph has been charged by state police. Dae Jesus Acosta, age 24, of Central Falls, Rhode Island, was arrested around 2:30 p.m., Monday, April 29, in Darien for a road rage incident. According to Connecticut State Police, a tow truck driver called 911 after Acosta, who was trying to merge onto I-95 in Darien, in front of the truck slowed down to 5 mph and then pointed what looked like a gun at the driver. Man With 19 Arrests Caught Again In Lloyd With Stolen Property, Cops Say A man on parole with 19 prior arrests and five convictions has been nabbed again for allegedly stealing property. Tobi C. Tobin, age 54, homeless, was arrested on Monday, April 29, in Ulster County in the town of Lloyd for criminal possession of stolen property. Meriden Storm Drain Explosion Leads To Bomb Scare A storm drain explosion in a Connecticut city led to a bomb scare after a suspicious device was found. The incident occurred in New Haven County around 6 p.m., Mondy, April 29, in the area of Cross Street at Women's Way in Meriden. According to Lt. Darrin McKay of the Meriden Police, officers found smoke coming from the drain and determined it did not appear overly large.  No victims were located, and no one appeared injured in the incident.
