Adeline Esposito, 87, Of Tappan

TAPPAN, N.J. -- Adeline Esposito, of Tappan, died July 28 at home with her children. She was 87. 

She is survived by four children and their spouses, Kathryn Steward, Janet Esposito, Eve Esposito-Hines and Robert F. Esposito; and her grandchildren, Richard, Gina, James, Jessica and Theo. 

She was born in Nanticoke, Pa. She attended nurses’ training at Maimonides Medical Center, worked as a registered nurse and obtained her bachelor’s degree at St. Thomas Aquinas College. She was a nurse administrator at a state hospital. 

After retiring, she was a dedicated volunteer at the Piermont Thrift Shop and was on its board of directors. She was a longstanding member of both the Rockland County Catholic and Our Lady of Sacred Heart choirs. She loved tennis, swimming, music and theater. She was an avid gardener, bird watcher, an organic cook and an amazing quilter.
