Bernard Anthony Rogan, 80, Of Tappan

TAPPAN, N.Y. -- Bernard Anthony Rogan, 80, of Tappan, died Wednesday, Dec. 2.

Born Feb. 17, 1935, in the Bronx, he was one of four sons born to Edward and Lillian Rogan. In 1963, he married Bridget Kennedy from Sligo.

Rogan worked in the Bronx Supreme Court as a court officer for 32 years, after serving in the U.S. Navy, and before enjoying 18 wonderful years of retirement with the love of his life. He was an avid golfer who also loved to read and to continuously break his own record for completion of the daily crossword puzzle.

He is survived by his wife, Bridget; four sons, Mike, Ed, Brian and John; seven grandchildren Sean, Eamon, Sydney, Caitlin, Connor, Brady and Ceili; and many nieces and nephews; and by his brother Sean and his sisters-in-law Susan and Ellen.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Pizzi Funeral Home in Northvale. The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Tappan. The burial service will be private.
