OLD TAPPAN, N.J. -- Elizabeth Phillips, of Old Tappan, died on Dec. 1. She was 88.
She was born in Brooklyn on Dec. 23, 1927 to Gladys and James Koenderman. She married Robert Phillips, who passed away in 2012, on June 12, 1948. They were longtime residents of Rockland County, having lived in Orangeburg, Tappan and Pearl River. She was a member of the Tappan Reformed Church and for many years sang in its choir. She maintained her passion for music and singing through her entire life.
She is survived by her children, Arthur and his wife Candice, Richard and his wife Debra, and Nancy and her husband Joseph Tanen; and by grandchildren, Cynthia and Matthew.
Visiting hours were at the Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan and was followed by a private burial.
