Frank T. McElderry, 77, Norwood Resident

NORWOOD, N.K. -- Frank T. McElderry -- a Norwood resident, formerly of Tappan, New York -- died on Tuesday, April 26. He was 77.

An Army veteran of the Korean War, McElderry got a bachelor's degree from Manhattan College and a master's degree from Pace University, even with three young children and a full- time job. He was a district manager for Con Edison in Westchester County for 30 years.

After he retired, McElderry pursued numerous hobbies including car repair, home improvements, organizing anything he could get his hands on, and watching his grandchildren participate in sports and dance recitals. He loved to drive to Florida and spend time in the warm weather.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lorraine (Marchese) McElderry; children Frank McElderry of Boca Raton, Florida, Tom McElderry and his wife Corrine of Tappan, and Kerry Guerriero and her husband Neil of Harrington Park; grandchildren Caitlin, Bailey, Shannon, Thomas, Mary, Kevin and Kayla; brothers James McElderry and his wife Maureen of Ramsey, and Larry Brown and his wife Joanne of the Bronx; sister-in-law Marilyn Lutz of Whiting; and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, at Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave., in Northvale. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at St. Anthony's Church on Paris Avenue, in Northvale. Interment will follow at Rockland Cemetery, in Sparkill, New York.
