George Brueck, 74, Harrington Park Resident

HARRINGTON PARK, N.J. -- George Brueck, of Harrington Park, died on Jan. 19. He was 74.

Born in New York City to German immigrants, Brueck was a graduate of New York University. He was a veteran of the Army during the Berlin Crisis of 1961, and he had a 35-year career as a manager with the New York Telephone company.

He was a lifetime member of the Harrington Park Ambulance Corps, where he volunteered as a captain, as well as an ambulance driver. While still working, he volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, where he served for 15 years as a member of the team of "Greyheads."

Brueck and his wife were members of the Community Gospel Church in Northvale. 

He is survived by his wife, Rosanna; sister Suzanne; children Cristina, Elizabeth, Paul and his wife Rosalin, and Michael and his wife Erin; and grandchildren Jessica, Ryan, Ashley and Harlan. 

A wake will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 22, at the Pizzi Funeral Home, 120 Paris Ave., in Northvale. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday at the Community Gospel Church in Northvale.
