NORTHVALE, N.J. -- Rita E. Lonie (nee DeFedele), 83, of Northvale, passed away at home Friday, Feb. 19, 2016.
She was the wife of the late Colin; mother of Maria Masillo and her husband Richard of Oviedo, Fla.; grandmother of Ricky and Chrissy; aunt of Joseph, Vincent, David and Paul; and Godmother of Louis Spinozzi.
She was predeceased by her sister Frances Doherty; and brothers, John DeFedele and Joseph DeFedele.
Lonie retired from Snitow-Show Consultants in New York City, where she was vice president. She was an active member of the Northvale Golden Agers and McGuire Senior Center, where she also was on the board of trustees.
She was a devoted parishioner of St. Anthony’s Church in Northvale and was a Eucharistic Minister.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday with interment to follow at Rockland Cemetery in Sparkill, N.Y.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Holy Name Hospice, 718 Teaneck Road, Teaneck, NJ 07666.
