BEYOND BERGEN: A commuter was entering a third-floor mens room at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan when a robber pressed a knife to his throat, rifled through his pockets and took $117.

The 61-year-old victim fought back against the 6-foot-5 bandit and got cut on his hand — but he kept him occupied long enough for Port Authority police to arrive and make an arrest.

Officers recovered the proceeds of the Friday night robbery, along with the knife, the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo said.

They also arrested 49-year-old Kenneth Mays of the Bronx and charged him with first-degree robbery and criminal weapons possession.

EMS treated the victim at the scene, Pentangelo said.

He also said that Mays has a criminal history that includes six felony arrests, half for violent crimes, as well as three misdemeanors.

The breakdown:

1981 – Two separate arrests for robbery with a deadly weapon in Westchester County (Served 4 years, on parole until 1998);
1985 – Criminal possession of stolen property, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, harassment and resisting arrest (Served 2 years, order of protection issued);
1989 – Criminal drug possession (2 counts), drug dealing (Served 4 years, on parole until 1998);
2005 – Criminal mischief;
2009 – Criminal drug possession, trespassing (Served 30 days)
