Have You Seen Him? Little Ferry PD: Robber Grabbed Teller, Fled With Cash

LITTLE FERRY, N.J. -- Little Ferry police on Monday released a surveillance photo of a man who they said grabbed a bank teller by the blouse, ripped nearly $4,000 from her hands and fled to what likely was a waiting car Sunday afternoon.

The robber was described as in his 20s, about 5-foot-10 and wearing blue jeans, work boots, and a dark gray wool hat along with the hooded sweatshirt.

A Bergen County Sheriff's K-9 unit traced the robber to the area behind Segovia Restaurant on Main Street after the TD Bank holdup.

"He probably had a car there," Police Chief Ralph Verdi told Daily Voice.

Moments earlier, the robber walked up to the teller with his hand in the pocket of his hoodie "as if he had a gun" and demanded money," Verdi said. "Then he reached over the counter and grabbed her by the shirt."

The robber was described as in his 20s, about 5-foot-10 and wearing blue jeans, work boots, and a dark gray wool hat along with the hooded sweatshirt.

The sheriff's Bureau of Criminal Identification collected evidence, Verdi said.

The FBI was contacted, the chief said.
