Robert Unkel was being held on $25,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with possession of Xanax with the intent to distribute it, as well as with heroin possession.

Police began investigating after learning that Unkel “was involved in the distribution of controlled dangerous substances, namely prescription pills and opiate painkillers,” Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said this afternoon.

A search hour earlier turned up heroin, Xanax bars and Buprenorphine pills, he said.

Mollinelli thanked Haworth, Closter, Cresskill and Dumont police for their roles in the investigation and arrest.

An arraignment was set for this Monday.
