Officers who stopped 2006 Chevy sedan at 10:30 a.m. noticed the $900 worth of explosives spread across the back seat when the driver, 30-year-old Jerry Colon of Newark, rolled down his window, the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo.
The driver, who told the officers the fireworks were for a party he was planning was arrested on illegals fireworks possession charges and the explosives seized. Colon also received a summons for the tinted windows.
