Slick Situation: Ridgewood Clean-Up Follows 55-Gallon Cooking Oil Spill

RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- A thorough clean-up was needed after someone inadvertently knocked over a 55-gallon drum of cooking oil in a Ridgewood municipal parking lot Wednesday morning.

Police, firefighters and sanitation workers responded along with members of the village Health and Engineering departments.

A private contractor was then summoned to complete the job.

The drum apparently was toppled by a refuse removal contractor trying to access a nearby trash container.
