The woman was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with head and shoulder injuries that initially didn't appear life-threatening after she was struck at 7:55 a.m. by the No. 1612 Pascack Valley Line train -- headed from Spring Valley to Hoboken -- near New Bridge Landing, James Smith of NJ Transit said.

Service remained suspended indefinitely between River Edge and Secaucus while NJ Transit Police investigated.
