For her Girl Scout Gold Award, Amanda Sproha is attempting to install “Slow Before You Go” street caution signs around the elementary schools and middle school in Wyckoff.

“Safety around our schools is extremely important,” she wrote on a GoFundMe page. Through the page, she is selling car magnets for a suggested price of $10 to raise money for the signs.

Sproha said she has the support of the township, police department, DPW and superintendent of schools.

By Thursday morning, Sproha had raised about $1,400 of her $1,500 goal.

“Currently, these funds are for one sign per school. If my goal is achieved, any funds above the original amount will go towards to purchase of additional signs for the schools,” she wrote.
