"I realized some of my active participants have breast cancer -- there so many," said Bernadette Kricheff, who will lead the event with support from the borough Board of Health.

A $10 donation will benefit the American Cancer Society. A number of businesses have donated raffle prizes for the event at the Old Tappan Firehouse.

Kricheff, who has been teaching since 2008, will lead a Zumba Gold session from 9 - 10 a.m. for older adults, and then continue with a standard, high-intensity session that is open to all levels and will run from 10 - 11 a.m.

Attendees will then move to cumbia, hip hop, and a variety of other music styles.

Kricheff will be giving away a 10-pack of Zumba sessions to support the event.

"When I see them smiling and getting a good sweat, it makes my job rewarding," she said. "Especially for older adults, dance is good for the memory."
