The meeting festivities were preceded by the annual BBQ, open to the entire community.

“We were thrilled to have a large attendance and the room was filled with great energy as we described some of our new and ongoing projects,” said President and CEO Carol Silver Elliott. “These new ventures are all focused on making sure that the Jewish Home Family continues to understand and meet the needs of our community into the future. As health care changes and the number of older adults increases, we are adjusting to meet these changes, ensuring that we will continue to be of service, and be viable, for future generations.”

Some of the those ventures include upgrades to the Gallen Day Center, new and cutting edge innovations in the Jewish Home Family’s sub-acute rehabilitation programs, operating New Jersey’s only elder abuse shelter, SeniorHaven for Elder Abuse Prevention and this summer’s launch of a Senior Driver Safety program.

Joining the Jewish Home Family’s board of trustees are Lisa Mactas of Woodcliff Lake and Daniel Hochstadt of Englewood.

The evening concluded with the premier of a music video made by staff and residents of the Jewish Home, as well as a film short documenting the Jewish Home Family Centennial Mission to Israel, which saw residents and participants from various Jewish Home entities traveling with staff to Israel.

In its 101st year, the Jewish Home Family operates the Jewish Home at Rockleigh – Russ Berrie Home for Jewish Living, the Jewish Home Assisted Living – Kaplen Family Senior Residence, the Jewish Home at Home and the Jewish Home Foundation of North Jersey. The mission of the Jewish Home Family is to provide the best care, service and guidance for the benefit of the elderly and their families regardless of race, religion or financial ability.
