Last month, a wild turkey tried to pay a Ridgewood family a visit but apparently couldn't reach the doorbell after scampering up a walkway to the front door. Then came a reported attack on a Hillsdale mail carrier.
On Wednesday, an East Brunswick resident told nj.com that wild turkeys "tried to crash through" his back door.
"I chased them away but it was (a) bit scary," Judah Schechter wrote to NJ Advance Media in an email. "They pooped all over the (deck) and dirtied up the back door.... Clearly there is an issue here."

This comes a week after Hillsdale police said a gang of turkeys roughed up a mail carrier, surrounding and biting him.
Wild turkeys are abundant statewide, with a population estimated from 20,000 to 23,000, according to the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife.
