NORTHVALE, N.J. -- Olga Vretenar (Mulinkova) Mulroy, of Northvale, died on Tuesday, Jan. 10.
"She escaped from Communist Czechoslovakia several months before the president at the time, Alexander Dubcek, loosened up the borders just prior to the Prague Spring and subsequent Warsaw Pact invasion," information from the funeral home noted.
Mulroy had been a CAD operator for various engineering firms. She was a member of the Slovak Country Club, in Sullivan County, New York.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Mulroy; daughter Jana Vretenar; and granddaughter Hana.
A memorial mass was celebrated on Saturday morning, Jan. 14, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, in Tappan. Pizzi Funeral Home, in Northvale, assisted with arrangements.
