Bank robbery suspect dimed out by his girlfriend

Police didn’t have to look any further than Francisco Marejo’s bed to find their primary suspect in a West New York bank holdup last week. That’s because his girlfriend turned him in to police. He was even wearing her hat, she said.

Marejo urged a judge to check the video — stills of which were posted on CLIFFVIEWPILOT last week — to know it wasn’t him. But Judge Richard Nierto was hardly swayed; He ordered that Marejo, 44, of Jersey City, remain held on $250,000 bail in the Hudson County Jail.

Prosecutors said Marejo held up the TD Banknorth on Bergenline Avenue at 61st Street on Wednesday. (See: Have YOU seen this man?)

His girlfriend reportedly called police after she overheard him talking on the phone about the holdup, then confirmed his identity after looking at the images released by authorities.
