HAWORTH, N.J. -- A Haworth police officer who stopped a driver for using his cellphone found a half-pound of marijuana, THC gummies and a couple of THC capsules, authorities said.
Officer Andrew Soltes pulled the 2017 Jeep Renegade over on Sunset Avenue on Monday, Detective Sgt. Justin Fox said.
Inside the vehicle, 49-year-old Stephen F. Peist of Nutley had the pot and other contraband.
Peist was released pending a hearing on charges of possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute it. He also received a summons for using his handheld cellphone while driving.
